Training Team

In the Training Department, the Head of Training is assisted by the Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Ground Instructor who superintend over the flight and ground instructors respectively. The department is saddled with all the training activities of the School such as ground academics, simulator and flight training as well as staff recurrent training. Essentially, all the instructors are required to possess appropriate NCAA licenses and ratings.

Air vice Marshal Ayo Jolasinmi

Air Vice Marshal Ayoola Olasupo Jolasinmi is the Head of Training for IHFS and a very experienced Flight Instructor. He holds a Masters degree in Strategic Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2014.

Some of the flight training he has undergone includes Flight Instructor's Course at 305 Flying Training School NAF Enugu in 2003, Flight Instructor's Course at Bassair Aviation Pretoria South Africa in 2006 and Instrument Rating at the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology, Zaria in 2009. He has the following Licences and Ratings: NCAA ATPL (Helicopter), Flight Instructor FAA ATPL (Rotorcraft). He has flown the following aircrafts amongst others: Airbeetle 18, TB-9, TB-20, Mi-34S Helicopter, Robinson 44, Robinson 66 and Agusta 109.

Unyimeobong Okon Udoeyop

Unyime is the Rector, International Helicopter Flying School, Enugu. Prior to his elevation to the new position, Unyime was the Quality Manager of the School and he also doubled as the Business Development & Admin Manager. He commenced his ab-initio at then 301 Flying Training School Kaduna in 2006 and, later the basic helicopter pilot training at Bristow Academy, Louisiana, USA where he obtained his initial pilot licences (PPL, CPL with IR) in 2010.

In 2011, Unyime returned to Bristow Academy for the Flight Instructor programme and then earned both the USA FAA Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument ratings on successful completion of the programme. Since becoming a career pilot, he has flown various aircraft including the ABT-18, Schweitzer 300CBi, Bell 206 Jet Ranger, Robinson 66, A109E, A109LUH, EC 135 and conducted a demonstration flight on the H145M. With about 15 years of flying experience, he has over 3,800 flying hours with many of it in combat and instructional flights. Unyime has the flare for improving his knowledge-base in aviation related programmes. Hence, he has attended aviation related courses like the ICAO Safety and Quality Management Processes in Civil Aviation; ICAO Aircraft Accident Investigation from IATA, Geneva, Switzerland; ICAO Safety Management System from Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety, Kaduna; USAF Safety Engagement Training, Inter-European Air Forces Academy, Germany; ICAO Crew Resource Management, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria; amongst others. He holds certification on the FAA Part 107 small Unmanned Aerial System.

Aside aviation qualifications, Unyime holds both Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy and Masters of Science in Security Studies degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals. Unyime enjoys reading, traveling, and engages in contemporary topics while making friends.

Squadron Leader OT Adeniyi (NAF/2995)

Squadron Leader Olusola Temitope Adeniyi who hails from Kogi state was born on 28 March 1985. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force as Pilot Officer on 29 Sep 2007.

He has participated in various aviation related courses including ICAO Safety Management System Course, Aircraft Accident and Investigation Course, Engineering Control Officer Course and Aircraft Production Planning and Technical Records Course amongst others. He holds Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as Masters in International Affairs and Defence Studies at Nigerian Defence Academy. He is a member of the following Professional bodies; Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

Squadron Leader Israel Nnamdi Godwin

He is the Chief Ground Instructor. He is a helicopter flight instructor in the Nigerian air force. He is a graduate of Bristow Academy United State and holds both NCAA and FAA flight instructor licenses. The aircraft types he has flown includes Schwerzer 300 CBi, Bell 206, Agusta 109LUH, Agusta 109E, Robinson 66 as well as Robinson 44 helicopters

He has participated in various aviation related courses and programmes amongst which are ICAO Safety Management systems courses and instructional technique course. Squadron Leader Godwin is a very accommodating instructor and loves to teach. He is sensitive to the needs of his students. He has also participated in the care in leadership course at Amport House Hampshire United kingdom, he holds a B. Sc (Hons) in Biological Sciences.

Kelechi Nwagba

Kelechi is the Chief Flight Instructor at International Helicopter Flying School. He commenced ab-initio flying training at 301 Flying Training School, Kaduna in 2008 and thereafter proceeded to Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria where he obtained a PPL (airplane). Kelechi thereafter commenced helicopter pilot training at Bristow Helicopter Academy, Louisiana, USA in 2012 from where he obtained FAA Private and Commercial Pilot Licenses in 2012

Kelechi also obtained Certified Flight Instructor, Certified Flight Instructor Instrument and Certified Ground Instructor Licenses from Bristow Academy in 2014. Kelechi who doubles as a flight instructor in the Nigerian Air Force has over 3,700 flying hours from both military/civil operations and trainings in different aircraft types including Socata TB-9 (airplane), Schweitzer 300 CBi, Bell 206, Agusta 109LUH, Agusta 109E/EM and the Robinson 66 helicopters. He has also attended the Tactical Flying Training Course at 405 Helicopter Combat Training School as well as various other aviation related courses including ICAO Safety Management Systems Course and Basic Flight Safety Officers Course at the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety, Kaduna. He has also attended the Safety Program Management Course at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USA. Kelechi holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy as well as a Masters of Science (Military Studies) degree from Bangladesh University of Professionals. He is married and his hobbies including playing lawn tennis and surfing the web for new ideas.

Ijaduwana Tsakr

Ijaduwana is the Safety Manager at International Helicopter Flying School. He commenced ab-initio flying training at 301 Flying Training School, Kaduna in 2011 and thereafter proceeded to the International Helicopter Flying School, Enugu as one of the pioneer students where he obtained Private and Commercial Pilot Licenses with instrument rating in 2014.

Ijaduwana also obtained a Certified Flight Instructor License from Los Angeles Helicopters, California in 2016. Ijaduwana has over 1,100 flying hours from both military/civil operations and trainings in different aircraft types including Air Bettle -18 (ABT-18), Robinson 22, Robinson 66, Agusta 109LUH, and the Mi-35M. He has also attended the Flight Safety Course at King Salman Air Base Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as well as the Safety Management Systems Course at 7 Star Global Hangar, Lagos. Ijaduwana holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy. He is Single and his hobbies including playing sports and traveling.
